Meet the Founder — Alissa Paolella
I started my career as a journalist, and that training never left me. I ask questions. I listen. I dig until I find the detail that makes a story land. That's true whether I'm writing a press release, building a marketing strategy or helping a small business figure out what it actually wants to say.
After more than a decade in working journalism, I moved into marketing and communications consulting. What I found was that small businesses and nonprofits often have the most compelling stories of anyone. They just don't always have the time, the tools or the right person in their corner to tell them well. That's the gap I fill.
I've spent more than 20 years working across journalism, marketing, communications and organizational strategy. I've written newsletters and magazines from scratch, built internal communications programs, developed brand voice guides and helped organizations navigate everything from a quiet rebrand to a full communications overhaul. I know how to find what makes an organization distinct — and how to say it clearly.
Alissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, along with an undergraduate certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is also certified in Search Engine Optimization, Content Marketing and Social Media Marketing: Strategy and Optimization.
What it's like to work with me
I'm not a big agency. I don't have layers of account managers or a team of people you'll never meet. When you work with Springs Content Studio, you work with me. I'm collaborative, straightforward and reliable. I take deadlines seriously. I ask good questions and give honest feedback.
I'm also a connector. If a project calls for expertise or capacity I don't have, I'll tell you — and I'll help you find the right person.
Where I’m based
I'm based in Yellow Springs, Ohio — a community I love and where I've done some of my most meaningful work. I serve clients in Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and across the country, with remote consulting available wherever you are.
